In 2026, vassa (the annual three-month Rains Retreat) begins on 30 July and concludes on 26 October.

During vassa, the Sangha at Vimutti will be entering into retreat mode, and activities at the monastery will be kept to a minimum in order to provide a quiet environment for practice. The activities that continue will be the monthly Working Bee and the daily lunch dana. At the Vihara, activities continue as usual with a monk from Vimutti leading the monthly Open Day and Sangha-led Sunday evening puja on fourth Sundays.
